Director’s Note

Hello to everyone and welcome to another exciting year with the Racine Family Club.   I’d like to introduce myself to those of you who I haven’t had the chance to meet yet.  My name is Julie Stemper and I’m originally from Fond du Lac, WI.  My husband, Brad, and I have been married for 7 years and we have two little girls.  Neela is 4 and Polly is 21 months.  My husband’s job with CNH brought us here to Racine about 10 years ago and it’s starting to feel more and more like home every day.  I’ve been a member of RFC since the very early days (4 years now) and honestly think my years with the club will greatly help me in my role as the director this year.  I’m hoping that it’s going to be another great year!

It’s hard to believe that it’s already June, isn’t it?  Summer is always filled with activities and lots of stuff to do with our kids.   It’s also a great time to plan an event for our members.  There are so many options whether it be a day at the zoo with some friends or a backyard bonfire moms night out.  If each member of RFC planned an event this summer we’d have something to do almost every day.  That would be fantastic!  I know that Nicole has recently posted lots of ideas for events.  I can’t stress enough that as members, we really have to be the ones to host events.  Kids Events and Socials do what they can through the year but it’s our member hosted events that make this club so wonderful.  We simply can’t grow as a club if we all don’t step up to host events.  Don’t be shy, jump right in.  Hosting events not only count towards your required volunteer hours each quarter but it’s a great way to get to know everyone.  I don’t want to beg but I will if I need to. 

I want to say a big thank you to the board members from last year and to those who have joined the board this year.  We had our first board meeting last week and I think it went great.  We have lots of great ideas for the year and I’m sure there will be many more that will pop into our heads as the year goes by. All members are welcome to attend board meetings if you let us know in advance that you’d like to come.  If you ever have any questions or concerns you are more than welcome to send me or Tammy an email or pm.  We’re here if you need us and will do what we can to make this a fantastic year!

Finally, I want to give a shout out to all of the great dads out there in honor of Father’s Day.  We all know that we married wonderful men but isn’t it something to see them turned into fathers?   There’s nothing like seeing a big grown man melt at the sight of his children.  I just adore watching my husband play with our girls.  Make sure you let them know how great you think they are.  Not just on Father’s Day but all year through.

I hope that I’ll see many of you over the summer and don’t forget to plan an event so we can all get out and have fun with together!
