Monthly Board Meeting Minutes
April 16, 2008, 7:00 p.m. Dunn Brothers

The minutes of March’s board meeting were approved.
OLD BUSINESS
2008/9 Board Status – Community Outreach Spot left to fill
The board voted to change the by-laws for 2-year term maximum for board members if unopposed.
Reviewed up-dated membership form and renewal process – Members are required to fill out application and resign liability waiver in order to renew. A photo release form will also be made available but is optional. Dues are due June 1st. Rebecca and Theresa will do membership retainment (encourage people to re-join, find out why people aren’t rejoining if they choose not to)
Adding Links to area businesses and asking for reciprocity – Ideas include Kindermusic, Racine Gymnastics, Camella’s Photography, and Too Good to Be Through It was suggested that we sell add space (sponsorship) on our web-page. Trish Howard is interested in doing this. She will touch base with Angela L. and Katie to see if they would like to be involved in this. It was suggested they we add polls to the home-page to make it more interesting as quite a few members don’t look at the home page.
Transition timing and process – The Giving Tree will transition in April. Everyone else will transition in May. The old board will be responsible for the May meeting. Set up time to meet together/do whatever works for you. New board members will be given Administration Access on the forum on May 1st. If you are no longer on the board you will lose access around June 15th.
2008 Member Satisfaction Survey – We will have the survey through Zoomerang again. Will have a drawing for those who complete the survey. The survey was discussed and re-worked. It will be open for 2 or 3 weeks at the beginning of May.
Minutes – should be posted in the general location and also add to meeting posts
Carrie Sharkozy-Boers got a Microsoft Office Laptop Computer donated to us from Johnson Insurance. Thank you!
4th of July Parade – There is a circus theme. We will do a poll to see if there is interest in doing this again. If so, we will need someone to head it up and get paperwork in by June 1st.
Board Member Reports
Director – Susan will up-date the by-laws and handbook by the next board meeting.
Treasurer – Balance is $4,128.92
PR – Brochure is 99% done. Still need more pictures. Will get quotes. - Clothing swap bring a friend night is on the back burner. - Ice cream social/ bike trike night in early June – RFC/Safety Fair flyers will be stuffed in bags at Carrie Sharkozy-Boer’s Rummage Sale
Community Outreach – Safety Fair will be held on May 31st from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Holy Communion. Suggestion to ask Carrie for contacts she uses for Rummage Sales and send them flyers. Will have Bippy the Wonder Clown from 10 to 12 ($125) – includes face painting and balloon animals. Suggested to have Carrie R’s Magic Show from 12 to 1. Suggested to get two banners from a Liquor Store and use the backs of them to make a banner. Confirmed tables include: lead paint, crib safety, crime prevention, ID kits, bake sale, and Bippy. Suggestion to have something with the RFC logo to pass out (sticker with logo on crayons, coloring books) Look into getting coloring books from Consumer Products.
Fundraising – Market Day Profits are as follows: November - $86; December - $68; January - $65; February - $55; March – about $60. 10-11 people are ordering. Rummage Bake Sale - $130
Playgroups – No one is waiting for a playgroup
Kid’s Events – Bird feeder event will be planned for an evening; RFC Kindermusic for a Saturday in May or June.
Webmistress – Carrie R. transitioned our provider.
Next meeting is Tuesday, 5/20/08 at 7:00 p.m. at Java Vino.
